The earliest record found so far is for a\u00a0Ralph Seckerston (or Seckerson)<\/a>\u00a0who appears to have been born in Liverpool around 1500.<\/p>\n

Ralph is credited as one of those responsible for building the foundations for the growth of Liverpool since the middle of the 16th Century.<\/p>\n

In\u00a01565\u00a0<\/strong>Liverpool was described as a poor obscure village, with only seven streets in the town that were inhabited, containing 138 cottages\u00a0and 690 inhabitants.<\/p>\n

By 1600 the population had grown to 2,000.<\/p>\n
